[Scrap] Introduction to Non-Dualism

Ideas are living magical creatures in our head. When we think of an idea, we’re casting a magic spell. Dualism is simply to summon two ideas, and to magically charge them with conflict for one another. The conflict between contradicting ideas is not inherent to them, it’s simply an energy that we ourselves charge them with. Hence, any two ideas, no matter how incompatible they may seem, are perfectly capable of co-existing in your head. Try it! Imagine them as lion and lamb laying down together. “Contradiction” is an energy that we ourselves charge. So too, is “Compatibility”. Non-dualism is not a rejection of contradiction. Non-dualism is simply taking agency for all the little magical creatures who we animate in our mind, and say to ourself: “If conflict isn’t inherent, and is an energy I myself charge into the creatures, what happens if I simply allow them both to exist simultaneously? I have emotional reactions that make me want to see contradiction, but I recognize this as a part of me more than it is a part of them.”
